MILLENNIUM TROUT LAKE 20th Jan
Fishing very well again over the last week with the weeks average at 3.9 fish per angler. Some anglers catching in excess of 20 fish in a session.
Fly choice is still variable, with some opting for lures and Blobs whilst others having success with more natural patterns, particularly Bloodworm apps.
A few larger specimens being reported with weights up to 6lb 8oz. Remember to put those TroutMaster entries in!
(above) Robin Davies with another lovely Rainbow!
Remember the Millennium Lake is a registered TroutMasters water, so please do fill in those entry cards and send them in! Any fish 3lb and over is worth sending in and you may make it through to our lake final next year and maybe even into the grand final! The top three fish of each month at our lake receive a TroutMasters badge to sew onto your cap!
Please remember that ALL Brown trout are to be returned. If you should get a good picture of these, or for that matter any of the trout from the lake I would love to have a copy and be able to put some new photos up on the website. Just send them through to my email address.
Hope to see you on the bank soon!
RIB COARSE FISHING LAKE 20th Jan
Slow fishing at the moment with the cold but some anglers till managing to land a few fish. Remember to take a few minutes to scout around and see if you can tell where the fish may be holed up!
(6.12.2019) Mark Negus with yet another fine fish from the lake! This Mirror tipped the scales at 20lb 6oz.
(below) Taylor with a pretty Mirror of 15lb 2oz and Lewis Littlechild with a PB Mirror of 28lb 7oz, both caught during daylight hours.
Look for signs of life before setting up, a 5min walk around the lake before starting could mean the difference between catching and not!
WESTMILL COARSE FISHING LAKE 20th Jan
Keep an eye on here for ice updates! Today saw a thin cover of ice right across the lake but anglers broke through and fished on! Good numbers of Roach, Bream to 5lb and large Perch being caught. Maggot to entice fish in and get them feeding, pellet to catch a better stamp of fish. Raising the bait of the floor by 5cm getting better bites.
River Rib 20th Jan
Some reports of good Roach, Dace and Chub coming out. River has slightly more flow on it at the moment and a bit of colour, though that is starting to drop out at the moment. Stay mobile if possible and swim hop.
A 3lb 8oz Chub taken on bread flake
PLEASE NOTE, ALL COARSE FISH SPECIES MUST BE RETURNED TO THE LAKES. ANY ANGLER FOUND KILLING AND TAKING COARSE FISH SPECIES FROM THE LAKES WILL BE PROSECUTED FOR THEFT
